This tape library option serves as the base unit of this modular tape library solution for your IBM eServer xSeries system. Ideal for companies with rapidly growing data environments, this library module can accommodate up to two LTO or SDLT tape drives and can support up to 26 SDLT tape cartridges or up to 30 LTO tape cartridges. The base unit supports mixing LTO and SDLT tape drives in a single library. This modular, high-density automated tape enclosure is available in rack version only. Each 5U unit contains a power supply and electronics logic. Combine this base unit with an LTO or SDLT drive and select an LTO or SDLT cartridge magazine and you have the base library and are ready for operation.
