  • Applicable countries and regions

Source

RETAIN tip: H205886

Symptom

UpdateXpress Service Pack Installer (UXSPI) fails to update the Nexus 4001i switch firmware from 4.1.2.E1.1f or 4.1.2.E1.1g to 4.1.2.E1.1h.

Affected configurations

The system is configured with at least one of the following:

  • UpdateXpress Service Pack Installer, version 5.00

This tip is not system specific.

This tip is not option specific.

Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Please see the compatibility page for more information: http://www.ibm.com/systems/info/x86servers/serverproven/compat/us/

Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release of UXSPI 9.20.

The target date for this release is scheduled for second quarter 2012.

The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

Additional information

Cisco changed the format of the Trivial File Transport Protocol (TFTP) response in this latest code update. UXSPI cannot accept this format change, and therefore cannot complete the update.

There is no workaround in UXSPI. User must manually install the Cisco Nexus 4.1.2.E1.1h code.
