Symptom

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 fails to start in Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) mode if a Trusted Boot (tboot) package is installed. This error message is recorded:

  Invalid magic number: 0 Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format

Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Workaround

If the tboot package is needed, install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 in legacy Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) mode.
