Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release of MegaRAID Storage Manager.

The target date for this release is scheduled for first quarter 2014.

The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

Workaround

The Disk Cache Policy should be changed to 'Disabled'.

Additional information

The default Disk Cache Policy should always be 'Disabled' when creating a Virtual Drive attached a RAID controller. This is to prevent loss of data in case of a power failure.
