Welcome
Fix Central for System i allows you to search, select, order, and download fixes to your system with a choice of delivery options. Fixes provide changes to your software, Licensed Internal Code, or machine code that fix known problems, add new function, and keep your system or Hardware Management Console operating efficiently.

Attention all new and first time users of Fix Central:
Complete the following steps before ordering PTFs over the Internet:
- Have a valid IBM user ID and password. Register for an IBM user ID.
- Review and ensure you meet all of the requirements for your client and System i family system.
Getting started with Fix Central for System i
- Open a web browser and go to Fix Central.
- Select System i from the "Product family" pulldown and click Continue.
- Select IBM i, i5/OS and OS/400 from the "Product" pulldown. Review the Guide to fixes for other System i ordering scenarios.
- Select an ordering option:
Note: The ordering options "Individual fixes", "Groups, HIPER, Cumulative fixes", and "Search for fixes" may also be customized to your system.- Groups, HIPER, Cumulative fixes
Select groups, HIPER, and cumulative fixes to a new order. - Individual fixes
Manually enter PTF numbers to a new order. - Resume pending orders
Download orders that you have previously requested. This option is available only for Download Director image orders. - Search for fixes
Search and add fixes to a new order. - View and edit saved orders
Review, edit, or delete previously placed orders.
- Groups, HIPER, Cumulative fixes
- Depending on your selected ordering option, selecting an operating system level may be required.
- Click Continue to begin the ordering process.
Ordering alternatives
The following alternatives are available to place your PTF order:
- SNDPTFORD
Use the i5/OS and OS/400 command SNDPTFORD to send the PTF order to IBM. Note that many of the Fix Central for System i order options are also available using this command. - Voice Support
System i family clients that have a Telephone (Voice Support) Software Support Contract may call their Support Center to order PTFs. - Order fixes on media
To order fixes on media, you must have a Software Maintenance Agreement (SWMA) for a System i and be registered to use the Internet facility.
