On March 23, 2006, EMC announced a licensing agreement with IBM that provides EMC with interfaces for storage interoperability and technical support for the IBM System i platform and the IBM i5/OS operating system. As a result of the agreement, customers using EMC Symmetrix® storage systems that conform to the licensed interfaces shall be considered an “attachment” and not an “alteration” as such terms are defined in the Multiple Supplier System Bulletin (G120-6648-13).
