On 30 Jul 2007 the IBM STG eSupport team will launch a new N series Entitlement process on the IBM System Storage N series product support website. This new process is designed to provide better security and access to N series support documentation and code downloads for customers, Business Partners and IBM employees. This new registration process is designed to facilitate the correct set up and operation of Autosupport. Customers who have subscribed to Support Notifications for N series or My Support will be sent a notification about this new process when it goes live. The new process will be communicated to the IBM Field and Business Partners via a series of flashes, training calls, and posting of this information on the IBM Sales and PartnerWorld websites. Registration access and instructions will be accessible to all users via the IBM Support Site web pages.
Here are the highlights:
- Provides access to code downloads based on machine type model and serial number
- Provides access to N series technical support publications
- Uses common information from the registration process to facilitate customer set up and correct operation of AutoSupport - the automated problem detection and diagnostics function available on all N series models.
- This process does not affect access to N series Sales / Marketing technical documentation such as interoperability documents, data sheets, Product overviews, Case Studies, Solutions papers, Redbooks etc. - this documentation will still be available to the public from the IBM NAS Marketing web pages.
