Enhancements:

1. Added ability to send information to IBM using a HTTPS connection. This encrypts the alert problem report and logs files as well as providing confirmation that the alert was received. This HTTPS method of transport is sometimes referred to as the Electronic Customer Care (ECC) client. The ECC client is installed as part of the RSM for Storage installation.

Please review the RSM for Storage Planning, Installation and User's Guide for information about additional ports used for this connection. Connectivity to the ECC servers is verified during the RSM for Storage installation. The ECC client requires that telephone numbers for The United States and Canada be 10 digits in length.

2. The size of the "Hours to call" field in the contact configuration page has been increased to allow special instructions to be included.

3. For networks that block the ping command, a new option is available on the Options page under System Configuration which will prevent RSM for Storage from using this command to verify connectivity.

4. Some versions of IBM Storage Manager firmware require that the Storage Manager password be supplied in order to obtain the complete set of support data. The configuration for each storage subsystem now allows for input of this password. This password is encrypted in the RSM for Storage configuration and is not sent to IBM with alerts. If this password is not supplied, IBM Service may need to contact you to have additional log files sent via email.
