At certain levels of ESM firmware, a problem exists which keeps problematic devices from being taken out of the Fibre Channel loop. Access to data on the storage array may be impacted if the above problem is encountered. A fix for this problem is currently available and as a result, IBM recommends that firmware levels for EXPs 810/710/420 be upgraded minimally to the following ESM firmware levels: - EXP 810/420: 98B5- EXP 710: 9681 Please see RETAIN Tip H194143, for more information on this recommendation.
