Profile deployment fails during CMM failover, 'LDAP BIND failure' Error - IBM Servers

Symptom

If users initiate a profile deployment during a Chassis Management Module (CMM) failover condition, the root of trust that the Integrated Management Modules (IMMs) use to authenticate with IBM Flex System Manager (FSM) Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to acquire their profile is offline temporarily and deployment will fail with 'LDAP BIND failure' error.

Affected configurations

The system is configured with at least one of the following:

  • FSM - Configuration Patterns, version 1.2.0, any version

Solution

The fix was distributed as part of FSM 1.3.0 (GA4)

The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

  http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/

Workaround

Wait for the CMM failover to complete and then execute re-deployment.
