The UEFI menu does not include a listing for 'Add Boot Device' or 'Delete Boot device.'

Affected configurations

  • Flex System FC3172 Dual-Port 8 Gb FC Adapter, Option part number 69Y1938, CRU 69Y1941

This tip is not system specific.

This tip is not software specific.

The FC3172 firmware for the 5.07.02 is affected.

Workaround

This is an intentional code change to add or remove the start device on the adapter, not from Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) menu, but from Legacy mode with the 'Ctrl+Q' QLogic utility to modify start settings.

To change the boot device settings using the 'Ctrl+Q' QLogic Utility:

  1. Allow the system to boot past the UEFI screen and press Ctrl-Q at the QLogic prompt.
  2. Select Host Adapter, Configuration Settings, Select Selectable Start Settings.
  3. Change Disable to Enable in the Selectable Start setting.
  4. Assign the storage World Wide Place Name (WWPN) and Logical Unit Number (LUN) in Boot port Name LUN.
  5. Press the Escape (ESC) key.
  6. Select Save changes.
