Users may experience reduced drive or array performance or slower than expected installation when using the native (inbox) Windows Server 2012 device drivers for the ServeRAID M5210 or M5210e SAS or SATA controller.

The native (inbox) ServeRAID M5210 or M5210e drivers included in Windows Server 2012 was aa prior device driver release that contained a performance bug.
The release of Windows Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2012 R2 is expected to have the latest inbox ServeRAID M5210 or M5210e device drivers that do not contain a performance issue. Microsoft is planning to release this device driver update in 2014 or sooner.
This is a limitation of the native (inbox) Windows Server 2012 ServeRAID M5210 or M5210e device driver. The only way to restore optimal performance is to load the latest out-of-box driver for the ServeRAID M5210 or M5210e SAS or SATA controller from the IBM FixCentral support site.
The latest drivers for the M5210 or M5210e resolve these performance issues, and need to be loaded in order to gain achieve full performance on the M5210 or M5210e controllers.
