The IBM Upward Integration for Microsoft System Center, v4.0 is a new offering that provides IT administrators with the ability to integrate the management features of the System x and BladeCenter Servers with Microsoft System Center. IBM expands Microsoft System Center server management capabilities by integrating IBM hardware management functionality, providing affordable, basic management of physical and virtual environments to reduce the time and effort required for routine system administration. It provides the discovery, configuration, monitoring, event management, and power monitoring needed to reduce cost and complexity through server consolidation and simplified management.

The IBM Upward Integration for Microsoft System Center provides:

Integrated end-to-end management of System x hardware with monitoring of both physical and virtual server health
OS deployment with the latest IBM firmware and driver update management
Automated VM migration based on server health or power consumption
Capability to perform hardware configuration and firmware and driver updates, and to check for the latest updates from the IBM website
Capability to collect IBM specific hardware inventory of IBM system x or x86 Blade servers
Capability to power on and off blades via Microsoft System Center Console
Capability to author configuration packs to perform compliance checking on IBM System x or BladeCenter x86 blade servers
Capability to manage servers remotely independent of operating system state
Multilanguage support: English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Brazilian
One year of software service and maintenance (three years available as an option)

IBM Upward Integration for Microsoft System Center can be purchased as a one year or 3 year software service and maintenance license. Activation licenses can be purchased by contacting your IBM representative or an IBM Business Partner.
